You're not created by a genius,
but most of the geniuses genuinely
crafted your harmony, your melody.
Each note rightly placed on the staves.
Every chord rings, poco a poco
,
the players played
your music passionato
.
Since your aural journey,
there were audiences pleased
and there were not.
Your crescendos and decrescendos
cause them to shake their heads.
Some of your allegros and fortes
cause them to walk away.
They preferred music of the old times --
those that lulled them to some faraway
kingdoms in their sleep.
But you knew that your notes
were meant to give them
something to think of.
Your melody
is made of the sounds of gongs,
spears thudding the earth,
the thumping of feet.
Sopranos, altos,
baritones,
tenors, and basses
travel and echo far and wide
to every corner of this world.
Those ears who are eager
for something new, for change
heard you.
They sing your song.
They play you.
And they are many.
