for all my UP contacts: About the SR referendum (multiply post, Jan 26, '09 12:29 PM)

numerous blogs from UP students, alumni, and some professors carry issues about the SR Referendum which will be held on January 26 to 30. this will be participated by students to approve or disapprove the Codified Rules on Student Regent Selection (CRSRS).

there are some who say Vote NO and some who say Vote YES. most of the present students do not know about the CRSRS because they are not yet born when the Student Regent was created in the 1980s. but the reality here is that the Student Regent is a REPRESENTATIVE OF STUDENTS in the Board of Regents. if those who will vote NO do not agree with this simple definition, then do so. otherwise, vote YES.

if you, as a UP student, doesn't know about the CRSRS, then better know about it. it's in the student's manual given to us during our freshman year. if you don't have it, visit the Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs and ask for a copy. if no copies are left, go to the library and search for it. We are UP Students, we MUST NOT BE IGNORANT about what's happening inside the UP System, not only in DILIMAN. UP DILIMAN IS NOT THE UP.

this writer have been in UP for some time. he is a witness to some groups that divides the students regarding campus issues during the Student Council election period. and after the elections, whether they win or not, they leave no trace, so to speak.

So, STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES, VOTE YES for the CRSRS. UNITE!
